We invite you to enjoy the slower pace of the North Georgia mountains and be amazed at spectacular lake views, creekside retreats and rushing river lookouts.  Fresh air, endless horizons and a bounty of unspoiled nature provides a backdrop for all these activities for those in your group who enjoy the outdoors:

Fly Fishing Begins in March!

Fly Fishing season is upon us and all you fly fishing fanatics can get your waders on!  Cabin Rentals of Georgia wishes to invite you to one of the most productive and promising areas to test your skills and talents - the rushing waterways of the North Georgia mountains.  From the wide and expansive Toccoa River (where you can perfect your backcast) to the winding and diverse Noontootla Creek, to the secluded and remote Wilscot Creek, you are sure to find the perfect spot to spend time improving your craft.  The Noontootla and Wilscot are easily wadable by anyone and have varying widths to perfect your roll casts, with a mixture of rock and sand beds.  With spring rapidly approaching, we expect a decline in the heavy rainfall that we experienced this winter, but be sure to check the weather reports and coordinate your trip to maximize clear skies and clear water.  Because of the abundance of rain, there should be deeper pools and eddies to test, but rest assured there is always an abundance of rock formations, fallen trees and hollowed banks in which to capture those elusive trophy trout!

The more advanced fisherman will surely be rewarded with many trophy sized Browns and Rainbows.  However, if your group are not journeyed fisherman, but a family expedition which includes sharing this healthy and relaxing hobby with the young ones, Cabin Rentals of Georgia is happy to stock either the Noontootla Creek or Wilscot Creek with one hundred pounds of Rainbow Trout the day of your arrival at one of our luxury homes located just a short jaunt to these creeks.  The trout average between 10 and 12 pounds, but we only allow catch-and-release at these locations.  Other recommendations we would make:

*Hip waders on warmer days
*Waist or chest waders on colder days
*Felt bottom shoes/waders to keep from slipping on rocks
*No spiked footware allowed to prevent damage to environment
*Bring a net to catch your fish
*Wet hands before handling fish to prevent removing their protective covering
*Crush your lure barbs to prevent damage to their mouth

For more detailed information on fly fishing the Toccoa River, please see www.cabin-rentals-of-georgia.com/content/fly-fishing-toccoa-river.  Our expansive luxury properties located riverfront on the Toccoa include Fallen Timber Lodge - 5 bedroom/5.5 bath - comfortably sleeps 12

Outlaw Ridge - 4 bedroom/4.5 bath - comfortably sleeps 8

Rolling River Cabin - 4 bedroom/3 bath - comfortably sleeps 10

Massage In The Mountains

When planning your well-deserved time off from work, family vacation or corporate retreat, be sure to schedule time to take care of your body and provide it with rest and restoration with an in-cabin massage.  Health benefits abound for the young athlete, exercise enthusiast, weekend sports participant as well as the individual who may be slowing down and requiring relief from those aches and pains.  Cabin Rentals of Georgia has arranged for qualified and skilled therapists which will meet your special needs and concerns.  The wonderful advantage of having an in-cabin massage is that there is no traveling back and forth from the appointment and sessions are quiet and unhurried, allowing complete relaxation and the luxury of  immediately  sinking into bed with a good book or having a glass of wine while enjoying the fabulous scenery on the deck when done.

The health benefits of hands-on therapy are widely documented in the scientific community, but many do not realize how corrective and healing massage is to everyone.  Relaxing the body increases blood flow to all muscles, many which may be carrying tension due to mental or emotional stress.  The increased blood flow helps eliminate waste products which build up in our connective tissue and mobilizes these toxins back into the lymphatic system and then into the blood stream to be eliminated by the body.  This process can greatly benefit the conditions of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, which can be caused by an accumulation of toxins in muscles and tissue.  Increased blood flow from massage also aids the healing process by bringing oxygen and immune system cells to muscles which have micro-trauma from exercise or old injuries.

In our ever changing world of increased stress and demands on our bodies and decreased physical contact (those hugs and kisses really are healing), it may be time to treat yourself to an experience which will complete your mountain getaway and allow you to return back to reality truly stronger and restored.  Consider treating your special loved one to celebrate an engagement, anniversary or birthday.  Schedule a session for that girl's getaway.   Top executives and management can be rewarded for meeting goals and quotas during the corporate retreat.  Whatever the event, remember to take care of what we value so highly - our health!

Nature Works Wonders for Restoration

The best things in life really are free!  Nature's healing and restorative powers are unlimited when you treat yourself and your loved ones to an incomparable and infinitely inspirational experience reconnecting with nature.  In over 100 research studies, simply taking a walk in a park or a hike in the woods does wonders for our physical, mental and spiritual health.  In our high tech, high stress lifestyle, taking time to recharge our batteries and find solitude and silence has been found to be remarkably healing for children, teenagers and adults.  Studies have revealed that even simple connections to nature such as viewing trees and birds outside of a workplace window or a hospital room decreases stress, increases work performance, increases positive attitudes and job satisfaction and speeds rates of healing in patient's recovering from illness or surgery.  Can you imagine the benefits of immersing yourself and your children or teenagers in unlimited beauty?

The North Georgia Mountains truly has every activity that an outdoor enthusiast and adventure seeker could possible desire.  But even for an average city dweller or suburban family there are hidden benefits that may highly impact where you plan your next family vacation.  Studies show that deprivation of nature disconnects us with the world.  It can lead to depression, anxiety and behaviors that can impair our ability to interact well in family, society, school and business.  The new trend in wilderness retreats and camps for children and teenagers have showed improvement in factors such as Attention Deficit Disorder and depression, simply because the mind has time to relax, use its inherent creativity and imagination from playing and learning in nature and not being constantly stimulated from television, video games, electronic devices and pressure from school and assignments.

Blue Ridge, Georgia offers the most spectacular mountain ranges, lakes, rivers and streams and many hiking trails to choose from along with an amazing array of birds and wildlife to appreciate.  Expect to see beautiful ferns, wildflowers, moss-covered stones and beautiful rocky formations along the trails.  Squirrels, rabbits and white-tailed deer are frequently viewed and our black bears sometimes make for an outdoor experience that may be a little closer to nature than you would like!  Begin your family or group's healing experience with the most desired luxury accommodations by choosing Cabin Rentals of Georgia or your stay.  All our properties are selected for their spectacular views and immersion in nature's beauty as well as proximity to adventure and outdoor activities.  We look forward to meeting your every destination need in the very near future.
