Vacation Rentals vs Hotels

"As the economy heads south, vacation rentals are more recession-proof than hotels because you get a much better value," says USA TODAY Magazine.

With a fleeting economy and soaring gas prices, vacations have become a rare luxury. People are putting off their family vacation until next year or lowering their standards to travel affordably, but there is no reason to not enjoy all the space and luxury one is accustomed to at an affordable price. If you don’t want to cram your family in a cheap motel or camp out in your backyard, perhaps you should give cabin rentals a second thought.

Cabin rentals offer vacationers the space and luxury of any top notch resort and the value of any economic motel. The cost of a one night stay at a resort can easily reach upwards of a couple hundred dollars and that usually doesn’t even include a kitchen, a game room, a living space, or complementary parking. Not only are you getting all this for the same price in a cabin rental, best of all you are keeping your group all together under one roof. Instead of going out for dinner or entertainment, you can save money and have it all at your fingertips at your luxury cabin rental.

A cabin rentals with Cabin Rentals of Georgia becomes more than just a place to sleep, its what makes your vacation. Indulge in that luxurious vacation you have been waiting for without breaking the bank with your next luxury vacation destination Cabin Rentals of Georgia.

Activities in Blue Ridge

One of the most common questions I am constantly asked is: What is there to do in Blue Ridge? I, like many, had the same misconceptions that there must not be much to do in such a small mountain town. Well let me tell you, I was wrong!

Looking for a thrilling outdoor adventure? Try a day of whitewater rafting down the Ocoee River with WildWater Rafting. Or have you have flown through trees and over rivers at top speeds? Well you certainly can here in Blue Ridge by zip lining. Less than 10 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge, Fire Wire zip lines offer super zips and canopy tours. Wild Water Adventure Center has 6 different zip tours with guides and sky bridges.

Looking for fun for the kids? The Lilly Pad Village is the best spot in town to bring the whole family. Among gem mining, putt putt, pond fishing, ice cream, hiking, and an outdoor café- what more could you ask? Let the kids spend the whole day at the village, enjoying the many different activities, while the parents relax pond side at the outdoor café with free wifi.

You will be amazed at all the shopping and fine dining downtown Blue Ridge has to offer. Just because you are in the mountains doesn’t mean you shouldn’t expect world-class cuisine. Harvest on Main offers a unique alternative to eating fresh, featuring farm-to-table dining incorporating locally grown produce. Enjoy a gourmet picnic on the Toccoa River with gourmet meats and cheeses from Angelina’s Italian Gourmet Market and Delicatessen and a bottle of fine wine from a wide variety at Out of the Blue. Blue Ridge Antiques is a great place for finding quirky items to decorate home. There are also numerous art galleries and trendy jewelry shops

This downtown Blue Ridge walking map is great for getting around downtown and seeing all that downtown really has to offer.

Clearly there are endless activities, but there is only one luxury cabin rental company in the North Georgia Mountains that offer incomparable service and selection and that is Cabin Rentals of Georgia

Pickin' in the Park

A special free event that is only in Blue Ridge for a limited amount of time, Pickin' in the Park at Horseshoe Bend Park, is really not something to miss here in Blue Ridge. Where else can you enjoy live Bluegrass music alongside the Toccoa River for free? Bring a picnic basket and some lounge chairs and sit back and take in the fresh air, beautiful scenery, and sounds of the Toccoa River with some banjo pickin’. If you want to see what sets Blue Ridge apart from the rest of the North Georgia Mountains, this special event perfectly embodies the scenic beauty and the laidback friendly nature of Blue Ridge. Don’t let this event pass you by. Pickin’ in the park will be held every Thursday night at 6pm until the end of September. Horseshow Bend Park is located in McCaysville, north on Hwy 5 and then right on Hwy 60.

Private Spa in the Mountains

When was the last time you woke up to sonnets of two red cardinals perched on your balcony? You opened the curtains to your private balcony to see the birds and behind is a stunning sunrise turning the sky colors of bright fuchsia and magenta. Your balcony is perched high above the trees and in your view you see mountains for miles and a large winding river flowing below. As you open your balcony door, there aren’t any sounds of cars, construction, or noise of the city. Actually, there are hardly any sounds at all, other than the soft whisper of the river flowing below and the sonnets of the red cardinals that have now flown to a nearby tree. When was the last time you were surrounded by such complete and total serenity?

Well for me, it was this morning.

My stay at Aska Adventure Outpost is like going to the most exclusive stress-relief spa, but instead of staying in a small room and sharing a sauna or a hot tub with many others, I have it all to myself. The view and my surroundings make me feel as if I am miles away from civilization, yet I am less than 15 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge. Waking to birds chirping on my balcony and the amazing view is certainly therapeutic, but if that weren’t enough, after a long day of work I can come home and soak in my private outdoor hot tub or my indoor sauna. The upper level King Master Suite also features a jetted Jacuzzi tub where I can wash my worries away in a long bubble bath with a glass of wine. I can easily say that Cabin Rentals of Georgia's cabin Aska Adventure Outpost is far more luxurious and therapeutic than any spa treatment or resort that I have ever experienced.
