The Rodeo is Comin to Blue Ridge
YEEHAW! Get ready folks for some rumbling-tumblin down home excitement cuz the rodeo is comin to town ya’ll! There’s gonna be horse buckin, calf ropin, cowgirl’s barrel racin, and of coarse the main event: bull ridin. Come hang with the locals and take part in the fun and festivities of the Deep South. Along with the show, your rodeo experience would not be complete without trying some of the local country cookin- and there will be plenty of it. Expect vendors in the stands and bakery treats at the entrance; every snack from hot boiled peanuts to deep fried Oreos. You are not going to find a rodeo coming near you soon back at home, so take advantage of this unique event this weekend only while you are here in Blue Ridge. The event will be held at the Union County Saddle Club Covered Arena at the intersection of Hwy 515 and State Hwy 325. Gates open at 6pm and rodeo begins at 8pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Children under the age of 5 get to watch their first buckin bull for free. Enjoy your vacation and we will worry about the details. Blue Ridge Cabin Rental and the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway Firecracker Special
Enjoy the fireworks and ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railways Firecracker Special from downtown Blue Ridge to McCaysville, GA with no worries about where to park or sitting in traffic. North Georgia's 4th of July Celebration
Are you wondering what activities are going to be going on and where you can see some the fireworks over the 4th of July holiday while staying in a Secluded North Georgia Cabin Rental? Here is a list of Independence Day Weekend festivities that you and your family will enjoy. McCaysville, GA starts their July 4th weekend celebration on Friday July 1st with a pancake breakfast and street parade, with a fireworks show later that night from the top of "Tater Hill" in McCaysville a half an hour past sunset (approximately 9:30pm). The fireworks can be seen from almost all areas of town. Stores & Restaurants will be open late. Saturday July 2nd you can enjoy an Old Timer's parade in Historic Downtown Blue Ridge starting at 10:00 a.m, Featuring music from The Roxie-Watson Band from Atlanta. They will also be performing a two hour concert in the Blue Ridge City Park after the parade. There will be many floats to see, so bring out the family and enjoy a fun filled Independence Day weekend. The Blue Ridge Lake Marina will be having Barbeque and live music from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Fireworks display at dusk. TVA has also announced that the road over the Lake Blue Ridge Dam will be open for the July 2nd fireworks celebration. The road will open at 7 p.m. and close when traffic has cleared. Parking will be allowed at the Fannin County Recreation Department, and spectators will also be allowed to use the deck that TVA built for its Open House earlier this season. We also wanted to let you, our guests, know that the level at Lake Blue Ridge Dam is at 1676.68, with full pool estimated at 1686. All boat ramps, except for Green Creek/Blue Ridge Recreation Area, are open, and Morganton Point's beach is also open. Blairsville, GA will be having their 4th of July fireworks display on Monday evening, July 4th at Meeks Park at approximately 9:30pm weather permitting. |
