Friday, July 1, 2011Blue Ridge Farmers Market
What better symbolizes summer like fresh picked Georgia peaches and down home barbeque? - Well that's the Blue Ridge Farmers Market. An array of locally grown fresh vegetables and homemade jams and honeys are all neatly displayed at the outdoor farmers market. For some authentic Blue Ridge snacks try the succulent pork barbeque or the boiled peanuts. There are also local vendors selling their handmade crafts and artworks. Above all the best part about the Blue Ridge Farmers Market is what makes Blue Ridge unique from all the rest and that is the people. Every local I spoke to was friendly, laid back, and enthusiastic to tell me about their hometown. The farmers market is the perfect representation of everything that is Blue Ridge. It is quaint, friendly, rustic, beautiful, and everything local. The farmers market, as is many of the events in Blue Ridge, is only open for summer and fall; open Thurs-Sun until December.
