An array of locally grown fresh vegetables and homemade jams and honeys are all neatly displayed at the outdoor farmers market. For some authentic Blue Ridge snacks try the succulent pork barbeque or the boiled peanuts. There are also local vendors selling their handmade crafts and artworks. Above all the best part about the Blue Ridge Farmers Market is what makes Blue Ridge unique from all the rest and that is the people. Every local I spoke to was friendly, laid back, and enthusiastic to tell me about their hometown. The farmers market is the perfect representation of everything that is Blue Ridge. It is quaint, friendly, rustic, beautiful, and everything local. The farmers market, as is many of the events in Blue Ridge, is only open for summer and fall; open Thurs-Sun until December.

Enjoy the fireworks and ride the Blue Ridge Scenic Railways Firecracker Special from downtown Blue Ridge to McCaysville, GA with no worries about where to park or sitting in traffic. Watch the fireworks from the comfort of your seat on the train or absorb the excitement around you by hanging out in downtown. The fireworks are shot off from the top of Tater Hill outside of town, so they can be viewed from anywhere you might be in town. The fireworks begin about half an hour past sunset at approximately 9:30 pm. The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway begins boarding at 7:00 pm and will depart the depot at 7:30 pm for a nice relaxing ride along the Toccoa River to McCaysville, GA for the fireworks and return to Blue Ridge by 11:00 pm.
