Testimonials - Paradise Found |
We had a great time in Paradise Found. Late in the afternoon on the first day we arrived, just when it started to get dark, we saw our first wildlife. It was a gray fox that came across the driveway. The next morning we saw deer on the gravel road up on the hill from the cabin. We went into Blue Ridge and looked in the shops that were there and we ate at the steakhouse. We spent most of our time here at the cabin enjoying the quietness, the hot tub and the view. We will be back to stay in another one of your cabins as soon as we can get another chance. We also enjoyed the ping pong and pool table. Also enjoyed the sauna too.
Gary & Lissa - We were delighted to see your names appear this time at the front of your guest book! It gives us a chance to thank you for creating such a peaceful sanctuary... We lead such busy lives in Atlanta, and the discovery of Paradise earlier in the year has given us two much-needed respites, the outside world which we hope to re-create many times over here in the future. Finding your mountain home was a bit of luck. For a number of years we have enjoyed the gift of vacation time at a friends cabin in Highlands; recently they moved there permanently and we began our sad search for a new retreat. On-line we went, Paradise was found, and we thank you for your gracious hospitality.
Our last day! This has been our first experience in a log cabin in Georgia and we have really enjoyed the peace and tranquility. The sauna and hot tub have been key favorites so we especially appreciated the volume of towels available. The equipment and general ambience of the place added to relaxation. We gave our family in U.K. a tour on-line. They were truly amazed, too. Hopefully we will be able to return with a few more family members. Many thanks for the hospitality. The directions were great.
When one arrives in this special place, the time ahead seems deliciously interminable. Inevitably, of course, it evaporates like the space of a heartbeat..! By all standards we made one mighty fine heartbeat out of our five days of doing as close to nothing as we could possibly manage! Everything was off limits that served any purpose other than immediate and healing pleasure: books and games emerged from suitcases; knitting appeared as did two new art projects; a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle, half completed and lovingly transported from our last mountain retreat, took over the dining room table. Interspersed among these pleasures were fires and naps, conversation, (maps), companionable silences, togetherness and solitude and more naps. Oh, and simple meals with excellent libations! The much needed rest and healing came to both, and we return to busy lives refreshed from our peaceful "heartbeat" in Paradise... we left one here for you!! Enjoy.
We had a fantastic time. The view is spectacular! The cabin is so beautiful and tranquil. My husband surprised me with a surprise weekend getaway here. It was wonderful to hike around the trails. Twin Branch Falls and the 270' suspension bridge were breathtaking. We also tried the different cuisine. We really recommend the Cucina Rustica and the Toccoa River House. The best cafe we've ever been to was the Lilly Pad Cafe. Thank you so much for such a lovely time. We will definitely be back to try the scenic railroad tour and spend some time in the mountains.
