Couples Trip to the Blue Ridge MountainsThis was our second trip to Blue Ridge. We loved the cabin! The kitchen and dining area was perfect. We shared our morning prayer everyday around the table. The view from the balcony was stunning, and everything was perfect! Thank you for sharing! |  The Memories Our journey to this cabin began because of a wonderful friend who rented this cabin for me, my husband, my brother and his wife. Our friend was with us when we found out my husband was very sick with cancer. He wanted my husband to enjoy some time away before he began his treatment. As we arrived, we saw the groundhog run under the house. We saw him one other time, then never saw him again. If was cold the first day we arrived, so we went to Walmart and bought a few things to eat and some fire starter. My brother started up the wood stove in the living room and we were nice and cozy. The cabin was nice. We all got much-needed rest. The boys fished, watched TV and fished some more. We enjoyed coffee outside every morning and eating breakfast at noon. We enjoyed the scenery and each other’s company. We were so thankful for out time here and we will always and forever cherish the memories we made here. This was just one more we will have to reflect and smile upon. We are so thankful. Sunday night... the trees danced... We love hiking down to the river and reading our books and drinking little bottles of champagne. We hiked the Stanley Gap Trail by the Toccoa River Restaurant. We saw beautiful waterfalls and on Stanley Creek Road a beautiful deer jumped... Sunday night... the trees danced... We saw beautiful waterfalls and on Stanley Creek Road a beautiful deer jumped out in front of us. We bought apples from Mercier Orchards, wine from Out of the Bleu in Blue Ridge, saw three deer on Hwy. 60 near Deep Gap. The hot tub was great. Wednesday night the stars were amazing. We ate great smoked trout from Enchanted Mountain Trout and Gourmet Meats from Butcher Tom in Morganton, along with smoked cheddar cheese, crackers, and white wine. Regina is so cute in overalls. Listened to Otis Redding, Jarvis, early Tina our last night. Finally made it to the swinging bridge!!! Had a great time! Thanks for a wonderful vacation! |
