Tubing-Kayaking

The North Georgia mountains in Blue Ridge, GA provide scenic opportunities to explore the rivers and lakes in the area. Tubing and kayaking are a popular, cool, refreshing activity in Blue Ridge to beat the heat during the long hot days of summer. With several rivers in the North GA mountains, tubing and kayaking provide a fantastic way to enjoy the views with your friends! Some of our luxury Blue Ridge vacation cabin rentals are right on the Toccoa River where tubing and kayaking are easily accessible.

Depending on the location of your Blue Ridge vacation cabin rental, tubing the rivers of the region is easy to do. If you are staying in the upper Toccoa River area along Aska Road, you will find several tubing outfitters. Local favorites are Toccoa Valley Campground with the pink tubes, and a longer float would start at Van Zandt's Grill and Grocery/Tube and Kayak Rentals at the end of Aska Road and turn LEFT on Newport.

If you are staying in any one of our Toccoa River Luxury Cabin Rentals along the tailwaters of the Toccoa River, it is popular to purchase a tube from WalMart and put in directly from your cabin. Enjoy a 2-hour float into McCaysville and Horseshoe Bend Park when water levels are normal...a faster float when water levels are higher when the dam releases water. Be sure to leave a vehicle parked in the parking lot or have someone pick you up! Otherwise, Rolling Thunder River Co. offers an awesome tubing/kayaking experience and is close to these cabins.

During the summer months, you will see many tubes and kayaks along the waterways in Blue Ridge, and what better way to cool off than frolicking in the cool North Georgia mountain waters!
