Ages All Ages Welcome and up

Callaway Gardens, a man-made landscape in a unique natural setting, was conceived and created by Cason J. Callaway and his wife, Virginia Hand Callaway. These gardens offer several wonderful and fun things for you to do while you are there.  At the end of the day, enjoy a beautiful drive into the Blue Ridge Mountains for a luxurious cabin retreat at Birchwood Lodge or Creekside Bend.

Day Butterfly Center

Flights of fancy await you in the Cecil B. Day Butterfly Center, where hundreds of butterflies flutter freely about in one of North America’s largest glass-enclosed tropical butterfly conservatories. The Day Butterfly Center is a living, dynamic environment in which a variety of tropical plants nourish the residents and new arrivals emerge from their chrysalides, dry their wings and begin their very first wing-beats.
