The Blue Ridge Mountain Adventure Race, hosted annually for the last 12 years by the Fannin County Chamber of Commerce, Blue Ridge, has grown from a first of its kind in Georgia and the Southeast to a nationally recognized adventure race. The Blue Ridge Mountain Adventure Race is a great way to showcase the North Georgia area's natural resources. "We are able to offer a new race course each year, because the county is more than 50 percent Forest Service land," according to Ron Zadroga, race director. "There are literally miles and miles of Forest Service roads and single track for mountain biking and running. For water events, we have the Toccoa River and Lake Blue Ridge, as well as numerous other streams and rapids and waterfalls to challenge our racers."
Held every year during the first week of April in North Georgia, the Blue Ridge Mountain Adventure Race is an event that is just as much fun to participate in as it is to cheer on the victors to the finish line in Historic Downtown Blue Ridge, where live music and festivities can be enjoyed.
