1. August 2, 10, 17, 24, and 30th - Pickin' In the Park at Horseshoe Bend Park

Pickin' in Horseshoe Bend Park every Thurs., 6:00 PM to dusk, May - Sept. Live music jams & pickin' on the banks of the Toccoa River at the Horseshoe Bend Park in McCaysville. Free Admission. Come out, bring the whole family to enjoy the experience. Picnic tables available, nice grassy lawn but you are also welcome to bring a blanket or chair. Weather Permitting. 

2. August 3rd - Shannon York Live at the Blue Ridge Brewery

Shannon York is a local favorite, stop by the Blue Ridge Brewery from 6-9 PM! Some of her Influences are: Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard, Janis Joplin, Jewel, Miranda Lambert, Zac Brown, Nikki Bluhm & the Gramblers, Willie Nelson, CCR and so many more country, rock, blues and gospel singers and songwriters. 6:00-9:00 PM

3. August 4th - Maria Howell and Noel Freidline at the Blue Ridge Community Theater 

Absolutely the biggest stars to perform at the Blue Ridge Community Theater. Maria Howell: singer and actress. Her music is a combination of sultry, soulful, and smooth tunes. She combines R&B with jazzy punctuation's and evokes an international flavor in her performances. As an actress she has played on the small stage, sitcoms and Life Me television. Noel Freidline: pianist, vocalist, writer and arranger. Noel has opened for many notable jazz artists. As a composer, he wrote music for ESPN, Walt Disney Company, Sports Center, NBA All Star game and Monday Night Football. Special VIP seating available for a meet and greet with the artist. 7:30 P.M.

4. August 10th - Travis Bowlin at the Blue Ridge Brewery 

Travis Bowlin was born into a family of true music lovers, not players, but real listeners. From Rock ‘n Roll to Southern Gospel, Motown to Country, he listened to a wide range of Roots music…giving him the foundation for his powerful soul, rocky, but smooth blues voice. He grew up with struggles like most people do…knowing heartache & happiness, and those are the words that come out in his music. 6:00-9:00 PM

5. August 11th - Matt Foster Live at the Blue Ridge Brewery

Matt Foster plays a mountain banjo, harmonica, and the sole of his boot. It’s live, simple, and earnest.

6. August 16-September 2 - Catch Me If You Can at Blue Ridge Community Theater

Overflowing with mirth, this Broadway whodunit is exciting from beginning to end. An advertising man who has brought his bride to the boss's mountain lodge for a honeymoon calls in the local police to investigate her sudden disappearance. Enter a pretty young girl who insists over his protests that she is the missing wife. A priest backs up her story. A funny little man who owns a delicatessen enters and before you know it there are two murders at the isolated lodge. Time: Thur-Sat 7:30 pm; Sun 2:00pm

7. August 17th - Gregg Erwin Live Music at Grumpy Old Men Brewing - 3-6:30 PM 

8. August 17th - Kiwanis Rodeo! at Kiwanis Fairgrounds 

22nd Annual. Western rodeo event with bull riding, saddle bronco riding, calf roping, bareback, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing and special events. Food and fun for all, 8 p.m. Gates open at 6 pm. $12 in advance - $15 at the gate. 

9. August 24-26th - Ocoee River Championships at Ocoee Whitewater Center 


3 Day Event. Upper Ocoee - Olympic Section


The Ocoee River Championships (ORC) bring annual whitewater competition back to Ocoee Whitewater Center, a world class Olympic venue, for the first time in almost two decades. This three-day whitewater event on August 24 - 26, 2018 will provide live music, regional vendors, and competitions including downriver racing (raft, SUP, canoe, and kayak), slalom racing, freestyle, and squirt boat categories. 9AM-12 PM

10. August 24th - Rob Agocs Live at Blue Ridge Brewery  

6:00-9:00 PM

11. August 25th - Mercier Orchards Hard Cider and Craft Beer Festival


We will have tastings, live music, games and food vendors.

We'll have corn hole boards set up and a gigantic beer pong game! We'll have 3 bands performing with 3 food trucks set up on the premise. And if you want to ride an electric bull (because why not?) we'll have that too! And all this fun takes place in our beautiful Orchard! This will be the largest gathering of Hard Cider makers ever in the state of Georgia.

With your ticket you will receive a wrist band, and a 12 oz event cup, and two drink tokens. With that wristband you will be able to sample up to 6 cider vendors and 5 breweries and use your tokens and cup for your favorites that you sampled. There will be a token booth to purchase more drink tokens as well.
