When evening comes, enjoy sipping a glass of wine out on the covered porch and prepare dinner in a fully-equipped kitchen with everything you’ll need. Dine inside or out with a dining area accommodating eight guests and an al fresco area accommodating six guests. A beautiful dining experience inside with beautiful picture windows provides a panoramic view of nature, bringing the outdoors in. 

If you’d like to experience dining out, one night you can go to Downtown Blue Ridge, where there are many restaurants to satisfy everyone’s palate, or you can go to McCaysville, GA/Copperhill, TN, just 5 minutes away and dine along the Toccoa River in some of the outdoor restaurants. 

At the end of the day, come back to High Hopes and spend some time on the terrace level playing shuffleboard, playing games at the game table, or even just relaxing on the comfortable furnishings, watching your favorite movie before a cozy fire. More enjoyment can be found outside on the covered porch, where you can soak your cares away in the hot tub overlooking gorgeous mountain views. Under the stars, create memories with your group in front of the fire pit, making s’mores, drinking wine, and telling stories, drawing each of you closer together. During the warmer months, you are within 30 minutes of exhilarating whitewater rafting outfitters on the Ocoee River, as well as quick access to the highway going into Murphy, NC, where the Casino is located, as well as the popular Bible theme park, Fields of the Woods. McCaysville, GA/Copperhill, TN, features the Toccoa River-turned-Ocoee River at the state line, along which you’ll find exciting shopping experiences and choice dining options. Boutiques, antiques, fly-fish outfitters, breweries, and restaurants provide the perfect way to spend the day. While staying at High Hopes, a small grocery is conveniently located for those missed items or ingredients. 

Historic downtown Blue Ridge has become one of the most popular North Georgia mountain towns because of its quaintness and all it has to offer for everyone. Stroll along Main Street and explore specialty boutiques, art galleries, clothing shops, home decor shops, and adventure outfitter shops...there is something for everyone, young and old. For the fishermen in your group, Cabin Rentals of Georgia has partnered with North GA Trout Fishing in order to provide a guided fly-fishing experience that cannot be topped. Joe DiPietro can take you on the Toccoa River, but a more exhilarating experience can be found on our private 1/2 mile of notorious Noontootla Creek. Here, Joe has cultivated an experience second to none on this stretch of creek housing blue ribbon bows and browns. 

During the warmer months, putting in a tube at the community lot on the nearby Toccoa River makes for an adventurous thrill as you float down the river for about 2 hours to Horseshoe Bend Park in McCaysville, which is 10 minutes by car. You can leave a car in the parking lot or pick up your group when they’re done.

High Hopes is within short walking distance to The Great Getaway, providing the perfect setup for large family gatherings or business retreats, each lodge offering ensuite bathrooms. Our Toccoa River family reunion or corporate retreat lodges include six lodges in total, each mostly offering ensuite bathrooms with each bedroom, where we can host up to 50 guests. Ideally located along the Toccoa River and nearby, many outdoor activities provide endless entertainment for your family members or team-building activities for your business co-workers, from fly-fishing and tubing to hiking and whitewater rafting nearby.
