Toccoa River Cabins
Cabin Rentals of Georgia offers cabins along the Toccoa River, and the beauty and tranquility is unsurpassed. Spending the days in a luxury cabin on the river will refresh your spirit and rejuvenate your purpose while creating long-lasting memories. The Toccoa River is one of the main natural features of Blue Ridge, GA in that this river is really split into two different experiences thanks to Lake Blue Ridge. The waters above the lake are like any northern Georgia river, while the waters below the lake are like tailwaters. The upper Toccoa River features our cabins Above the Timberline, Aska Adventure Outpost, Aska Escape Lodge, and A River's Bend. The lower Toccoa River features cabins Fallen Timber Lodge, Outlaw Ridge, Riverview Lodge, Mayfly Lodge, A Rolling River, and Down by the River.
The Upper Toccoa River Cabins
The upper Toccoa River provides the fisherman with ample room for fly casting and there are many deep, slow moving pools located along the river's course. A fisherman's dream, the upper Toccoa River enjoys a designated dealyed harvest section measuring around 1.5 miles open to the public. Heavily stocked in the winter months with quality rainbow trout, you will also be able to hook into the occasional trophy brown trout. Because the upper Toccoa River is heavily trafficked during the summer months with tubes and kayaks, most fly fishermen fish these waters during the cooler months.
The upper Toccoa River flows through the popular Aska Adventure Area of Blue Ridge. Offering high mountain elevations, beautiful hiking trails, Lake Blue Ridge access, and river activities such as tubing and kayaking, this area is quite populated during the warmer months of the year. Some of our luxury cabins are found in this pristinely beautiful part of Blue Ridge. Above the Timberline, and 4 bedroom/3.5 bath Blue Ridge cabin rental, sits high atop a mountain where watching the clouds dance across the sky creating beautiful shadows on the mountains is relaxing and refreshing. Aska Adventure Outpost, another 4 bedroom/3 bath cabin, is situated high atop a mountain, but has river access below at the gazebo - a perfect place to sun, fish, and enjoy the river. Aska Escape Lodge is a 3 bedroom/3 bath cabin and is located in a enclave within walking distance of the Lilly Pad Village - a fun place for kids to fish in the pond, play putt-putt in the woods, and enjoy gem mining. A River's Bend, a 4 bedroom/3.5 bath Blue Ridge cabin, is located further downstream, closer to the tailwaters. Also situated in an elevated position to take in gorgeous views, there is a path down to the river's edge to enjoy the water. Gorgeous any time of year, these upper Toccoa River cabins boast beautiful fall color in the springrime and autumn.
The Lower Toccoa River Cabins
If it is the big brown trout you're after, this tailwater section of the Toccoa River is the place for you and most of our luxury lodges are located along this stretch of river. For most people, this river is challenging in terms of access, but if you stay in one our luxury cabins, you have an enviable access that is a great perk. Below the dam of Lake Blue Ridge, the Toccoa River continues as it flows out from the cold deep water of the lake. This consistent cold water promotes healthy acquatic life year round as well as ideal temperatures for trout reproduction. The first 15 miles down from the release point is private land on either side of the river, making river access impossible for the fisherman. The good news is that the landowners invest in the fishery by utilizing feeders that send a constant flow of pellets to the hungry trout, giving them an adequate food source.
There are a number of cabins along this stretch of river that will be sure to please fishermen as well as observers. Three 5-bedroom lodges are situated together up the mountain side along the Toccoa River providing an ideal locale for a family reunion, business retreat, or church retreat. Riverview Lodge and Outlaw Ridge are located next door to each other and are situated on a mountain ridge with spectacular views of the Toccoa River meandering through the mountains. A hiking path with stairs is provided for river access. Fallen Timber Lodge is loacted below these two lodges, closer to the Toccoa River with much easier access. All three lodges feature 5 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms providing the necessary privacy for guests. A Rolling River Cabin, a 4 bedroom/3 bath Blue Ridge cabin, features stunning panoramic river views with a small hiking path down to the river's edge. Offering three levels of large covered porches with Toccoa River veiws, each with a wood-burning fireplace. Mayfly Lodge, an uber luxury 2-bedroom lodge, is situated more inland, but enjoys river access through A Rolling River's hiking path. Down by the River, a 3 bedroom/3.5 bath Blue Ridge cabin, is located further downstream and enjoys a flat terrain providing easier access to the river. The fishing at any of these cabins is superb. Enjoy the thrill of a lifetime!
Beware of the water levels in this location. The water release schedule from the dam can be found at www.tva.com or call TVA, 1-800-238-2264, then dial 4, 23, # to reach the Blue Ridge Dam Information. These rising waters can actually be a blessing for fishermen. During the summer, when the extra release of cold water comes into the river, the trout actually become more active.
