We arrived here at Fallen Timber on the evening of the 22nd after a 9-hour drive from South Florida. Not a bad drive, but when we opened the door to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and a breathtaking view, it made it all worth it! The cabin is EVERYTHING we could have hoped for and more. What a wonderful way to spend Christmas…a crackling fire, a gorgeous log cabin, and family. Thank you, Gary and Lissa, for a wonderful experience! We are a truly blessed family to be able to spend Christmas together, and we are additionally blessed to be a part of Fallen Timber’s 1st Christmas. We are making many warm memories from the many beautiful moments we are experiencing here. I don’t think it was “just a coincidence” that both my son and I stumbled on Fallen Timber’s website and each separately decided that this was the cabin for our Christmas celebration. The cabin is every bit of what we hoped for, and more. We appreciate Gary’s helpfulness and hospitality. I feel blessed by healing and happiness, and our family is very blessed as we share our moments and days together here at this beautiful Fallen Timber Lodge. I find it distressing that only now that our party is preparing to leave do we consult this book to review the musings of those who vacationed here before us. Alas, the things we could've done that we are now out of time to do! Henceforth, I decree, we will read the guestbook at all future vacation rentals BEFORE the day of our departure! Still, we enjoyed our stay in the Blue Ridge Mountains to the utmost. Things we did: - Hiked the last two miles of the Appalachian Trail - Enjoyed amazing food at The Butcher and Bottle (Ellijay), Chesters, General Ledgers (make reservations to eat in the vault!), The Vine (wine tasting, music, and charcuterie!), The Sweet Shoppe, and Harvest on Main (Best mulled wine this side of the Mississippi) - Visited Mountain Man Comics - Escape Blue Ridge: We made it it through two escape rooms with time to spare! - Mercier Orchards: Go for the atmosphere! Things we wish we did more of: - Enjoy the outdoor deck and fireplace in the two hours before and immediately moments after susnset. It was glorious! Final Thoughts: We had a wonderful time! For the record, the ladies won the game of Sorry... Twice! Enjoy your stay here future visitors! Big thanks to our gracious hosts. You have a lovely home!
