A Perfect Weekend RetreatThis is the first time in over 10 years of traveling with 3 other couples that we took a chance on just renting a house for the weekend. After our experience at Celtic Clouds once before, this will now be the norm for us! The view from the cabin was the biggest selling point for all of us, so beautiful! We especially loved the outdoor fireplace and enjoyed laughing, talking and staying up late each night. Overall, the beauty of the cabin itself, the privacy and the view made it a perfect weekend retreat. We would definitely stay here again. |  The Memories What a fabulous getaway we've had! The view is mesmerizing and we often caught ourselves just staring, lost in thought (Like, "Do I really have to go home"). We ventured out and walked the train tracks, we did some fly fishing (well actually a lot of Fly Fishing), Robert pulled out a fish the size of a golden retriever...unfortunately it got away before we could take a picture. The train is charming and we enjoyed waving to the passengers as they rolled by. The only way to have made our stay better - would be to extend it! We look forward to returning again and again. We were truly blessed with a full week at Fallen Timber. Way more cabin than two people need, but everyone should have the opportunity to live like royalty at least once in their lives. The main floor is truly the heart of Fallen Timber. 90% of our time was spent in the living room and the kitchen/dining area. The view cannot truly be put into words. From the river below, up through the trees, and into the skies above...well you'll just have to put this journal down and go see for yourself. Walk the railroad tracks, float down the river, explore downtown Blue Ridge, spend a day at the lake, or just sit back and enjoy the view.
