Tubing on the Toccoa River

Tubing-Kayaking

The happy days of summer are here, and tubing down the Toccoa River is a refreshing and exhilarating activity while staying in our luxury Blue Ridge, Georgia vacation rentals. Tubing in Blue Ridge, GA, and the surrounding area is a fun way to cool down, enjoy the beauty of Blue Ridge and the North Georgia mountains, and have a great time with friends and family.

The Toccoa River is a dam-controlled river, and water is released daily, so be sure to stay alert or check the TVA website for water releases. Water levels and speed can change significantly after water is released. At low water, the river is shallow and moves at a slower pace, wonderful for leisurely tubing. At high water, the river rises 2 to 3 feet and picks up considerable speed.

For Guests staying in Serendipity on Noontootla Creek, Cherokee Sunrise on Noontootla CreekAbove the Timberline, Aska Escape Lodge, and Blue Ridge Lake Sanctuary, the following are convenient tubing outfitters:

The Toccoa Valley Campground operates a popular tubing operation during the summer months. Their trip is 6 miles long and lasts around 2-3 hours, depending on the water level. The tubes are custom-designed with a bottom and handle to make the trip more relaxing and pleasant, especially for children.  ...
