The reward for the challenging climb from Stanley Gap to the top of Rocky Mountain is a 1000 ft descent over two miles on narrow singletrack with lots of roots and rocks to contend with. This route starts at the Shady Falls parking area with a pavement ride south along Aska Road. A short diversion onto Flat Creek River Road avoids a small segment of Aska Road. After 2.5 miles, you begin a climb on Stanley Creek Road. The first two miles of Stanley Creek Road are also paved. This gives way to gravel but the real climbing also begins. | The MemoriesWe had such a great, relaxing vacation! The cabin couldn't have been more perfect. We had such a great, relaxing vacation! The cabin couldn't have been more perfect. It was so roomy with all the modern amenities. The best part was that there was no TV in the living room. We actually had to conversate and play games! The location was perfect. Right down the road were hiking trails, tubing and playing along the rocks in the river. The views were amazing. We loved making smores by the fire. We were sad to leave and look forward to coming back. I'll definitely recommend this cabin to our family and friends. ![]() Another amazing and completely relaxing weekend. We didn't leave the cabin once; always relaxed when we leave.
