When we first pulled up, I was like 'Wow!' My boyfriend and I got to celebrate our 5 year anniversary here. It was such a lovely and relaxing weekend away. We had a wonderful time—we'll be back! Lovely Christmas Trip! The day we arrived it snowed and the scenery was snowy white. We explored the alpine town of Helen on day 1. We enjoyed a horseback ride and the pretty scenery. On day two we went hiking to the highest mountain in Georgia. On day three we had a lovely river front fire pit with marshmallows. Day four we had wine and beer and sang some freestyle blue songs. Christmas day was lovely and we cooked a lovely turkey. Based on other recommendations in this journal, we took our kids (ages 6 and 9) to hike the Fall Branch Falls just minutes away and it was perfect! They got to touch the waterfalls. Great memory. We also love horseback riding with Appalachian Trail Rides and gem mining at the Lilly Pad Village down Aska Road.
