New Yorkers Find Their Favorite Vacation Spot in the Blue Ridge Mountains

When we walked into this house with a Christmas tree lit and beautiful music playing in the background, we thought we were in a picture book. The pictures were just like the website - which is rare. Normally we are used to taking vacations in south Florida, or spending time in New York (where we are originally from). This is our new favorite location without-a-doubt. We already have plans to come for awhile in the summer.

The driveway was a little nerve wracking at first; however, after a few times of going up and down it became fun, it sort of reminded me of Six Flags. Why? Well, because my sister was screaming in my ear while I drove up and down ~ Everyday. My father, after lighting the fireplace, accidentally got too close to the fire and burnt off his eyebrows, eyelashes and facial hair which earned him the new nickname "fireface".  At nighttime you may feel a little uneasy because it's the woods, you're on top of a mountain, and it's quiet. It's safe though, so don't worry.

Everyday we went to lunch at The Beanery located downtown. Try the tomato basil soup - Amazing! The antique shops were interesting - they had many beautiful things. Unfortunately my mother packed 10 duffle bags of clothes for a week, same for my sister. We couldn't fit anything else into our Hummer. (which is quite sad)! My sister and brother-in-law tried the jacuzzi one day, they said it wasn't bad. But, we all agree doing it in 23 degree weather probably wasn't the best idea.

Try the bowling ally downtown - the owners were very nice. It wasn't busy when we went, of course that's when I bowled my best game. This really was a great getaway.  The owner was helpful and the house was what we were looking for. I hope whoever is reading this has an amazing time.

No One Wanted To Leave!

We were thrilled with The Royal Mountain Lodge! What a beautiful cabin with lovely finishes and so much attention to detail! The beds and furniture were all so cozy and perfect for a relaxing vacation! We had a smaller group so we all loved watching movies upstairs in the loft area and we spent a lot of time baking in the kitchen with goods we had purchased at Mercier Orchard. We had everything we could possibly need for a beautiful vacation! We will continue to use this management company as they are always so helpful, friendly and accommodating. We had such a wonderful time that we even decided to stay an extra day. No one wanted to leave. Thank you, CROG! We will be back soon.

Nobody Wants to Leave!

Awesome cabin/view! It was such a refreshing getaway. A lot of family time in the cabin living room—it was awesome! Family time in the hot tub, too. Nobody wants to leave!

North Georgia Mountain Christmas
This review is from: Fallen Timber Lodge

We arrived here at Fallen Timber on the evening of the 22nd after a 9-hour drive from South Florida. Not a bad drive, but when we opened the door to a beautifully decorated Christmas tree and a breathtaking view, it made it all worth it! The cabin is EVERYTHING we could have hoped for and more. What a wonderful way to spend Christmas…a crackling fire, a gorgeous log cabin, and family. Thank you, Gary and Lissa, for a wonderful experience!

We are a truly blessed family to be able to spend Christmas together, and we are additionally blessed to be a part of Fallen Timber’s 1st Christmas. We are making many warm memories from the many beautiful moments we are experiencing here. I don’t think it was “just a coincidence” that both my son and I stumbled on Fallen Timber’s website and each separately decided that this was the cabin for our Christmas celebration. The cabin is every bit of what we hoped for, and more. We appreciate Gary’s helpfulness and hospitality. I feel blessed by healing and happiness, and our family is very blessed as we share our moments and days together here at this beautiful Fallen Timber Lodge.
