Happy and RejuvenatedThank you for a fun, relaxing, and adventurous vacation! We so enjoyed watching the sun peak its golden glow over the lush Smoky Mountains every morning! Tubing up the Toccoa River was a blast! We also enjoyed the scenic train ride into McCaysville. Need I mention the food? The wonderful southern food! Our families are returning home happy and rejuvenated. | The MemoriesWe spent the first weekend in August at Cherokee Sunrise as recommended as one of the agent's favorite properties and we were so pleased! We spent the first weekend in August at Cherokee Sunrise as recommended as one of the agent's favorite properties and we were so pleased! The 100 year old cabin was beautifully refurbished with modern appliances and beautiful decor; the pond out front provided a lovely view from the screened front porch as did the field that served as the front yard; a doe and fawn visited us each morning and evening with the only sound being the bubbling of the spring feeding into the pond. A short walk led to the banks of the Noontootla where we enjoyed a swing over the water and a gazebo on the creekbank. We hiked the nearby Aska Trails and spent an afternnoon paddling Lake Blue Ridge, all in close proximity to this lovely homestead. We slept well in the comfy, spacious bed after long days of enjoying all the area has to offer - good restaurants, great outdoors, wildlife, quaint towns. I wish we had stayed a whole week; a weekend left us wanting more. The Outlaw Ridge cabin was amazing! It's a beautiful home with gorgeous views. Sitting in a rocking chair on the porch in the morning with coffee was so relaxing. All of the bedrooms are super comfortable and have private baths - perfect! There is cable TV and wifi for... The Outlaw Ridge cabin was amazing! It's a beautiful home with gorgeous views. Sitting in a rocking chair on the porch in the morning with coffee was so relaxing. All of the bedrooms are super comfortable and have private baths - perfect! There is cable TV and wifi for convenience. The kiddos are entertained by ping pong and foosball. The kitchen is gorgeous and we cooked many wonderful meals. There is a Wal-Mart a little under 10 miles away, and an Ingles grocery store a little beyond that. This cabin was phenomenal. Lots to do in the area. White water rafting, zip lining, aerial adventure park, gem mining, hiking, tubing, you name it. Don't forget to check out the nearby apple orchard. It has a great restaurant, delicious hard cider, amazing bakery and candy/fudge shop, and so much more. Best vacation ever for our group of 4 adults and 5 kiddos (some teens, some elementary age). |
